Interline

Interline Billing Process happens when an air waybill (AWB) is carried or transported from Origin to its Destination by two or more carriers wherein the other carrier is a non-host carrier.

Several factors impact the interline billing process, such as the clearing house membership of the participating carriers, the mode of payment, or who is the issuing carrier.

In the interline billing process, the carrier that receives the full amount of the freight charge is going to be invoiced by the other participating carriers.

There are also instances when the destination airport has an assigned Collect Carrier. If the collect carrier is set up in the airport, the collect shipment is processed in interline billing and the destination carrier is entitled the CC fee. If the airport has no collect carrier set up, the standard import sales process apply.
